Holds teacher certification through the Cecchetti Council of America and had taught dance for 32 years. Her training also includes study with Christina Kammueller, Jacob Lascu and Rose Marie Floyd. Her background is in the Arts and Photography were she had a successful studio in Pontiac. Former Director of Dance at Detroit Country Day Lower School were she implemented the first after school dance program for 17 years. Member of the Cecchetti Council she is dedicated in providing quality dance instruction in a warm and personal environment.
Lisa LaMarre Wilmont
Holds a Master in Arts in Teaching Artistry, in Theater and Dance, from Wayne State University and a Bachelor of Arts from Western Michigan University where she was a Presidential Scholar. She is a member of both Michigan Dance Council and National Dance Education Organization. Her work has been produced for Wayne State University, Grand Valley State University, Oakland University, ArtPrize7, Defibrillator Gallery, DDCdances, People Dancing, Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit, Detroit Contemporary, Detroit Institute of Arts, Detroit Music Hall, Sidewalk Detroit, and numerous public and private spaces nationally. Lisa has created over 100 original live art performances, 6 dance films, and was a 2018 Kresge LiveArts Panelist. Her focus is on the utility of the human body in response to sites, sounds, and surrounding stimulates. She is the director of LaMarre and Dancers, teaches at Wayne State University, and is a teaching artist for VSA Michigan where she shares dance with special education classrooms.
Derrick is a lifelong lover of all things Dance! From Woodhaven, Michigan Derrick discovered his passion for dance at an early age by watching his favorite artists on MTV. He was on "Next Level Dance Company” from 2014-2017 and is currently on “Melodic Nocturne dance tribe”. In the summer of 2020 Derrick founded his very own Dance Crew, “Thee Plastic Dollz”! Since founding the dance crew Derrick has gone on to tour with DJ/Recording Artist, Wreckno. They have spent the the year filming music videos, and performing at Electronic music festivals such as: “Electric forest”, “Lollapalooza”, “Grizmas In July”, and they have many more shows to come. We are happy to have him on staff at the DABH to instruct our Hip Hop classes.
Nia Silao is a professional dance educator with a Bachelors Degree in Dance from Wayne State University. Nia is dedicated to providing quality dance education, nourishing local talent, and strengthening passion for dance.
Nia has performed for causes such as Alternatives for Girls and Brighton Center for the Performing Arts. She has volunteered with Dance Masters VIP Junior Members encouraging young dancers to find their own path to dance education. Her students have won various scholarships, gone to work on Broadway, with touring companies, and for Disney Corporation, in addition to competing in the World Tap Dance Championships.
Ms. Yvette has been dancing since the age of 3. She has been a teacher for 25 years in the Bloomfield Hills area. Ms. Yvette has her Degree in Business, and a Minor in Dance (Graduate of Oakland University). Ms. Yvette has Regional and National Talent Competition winners ranging from Myrtle Beach, California, New York, and Las Vegas, NV; 1st place winners in Las Vegas, NV. Ms. Yvette will be teaching Tap, Jazz, and Lyrical and is looking forward to sharing her continued Love of Dance with the students!
